What To Ask Before You Buy Cabinets

Many Kentuckiana homeowners don’t know what questions to ask—until it’s too late. Here are the questions you should ask before putting your hard-earned money down on low-quality cabinets.

Will my kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities hold up to real life use?

Look into the future – what really matters is how your cabinets hold up when real life kicks in. Kids climb. Water spills. Plates, platters, and small appliances pile up. And ½“ particle board cabinets just aren't built for it.

Imagine opening the same cabinet ten years from now – and it still feels solid, smooth, and quiet. It’s why we build our cabinets with real wood and ¾“ plywood.

Cabinets in a bathroom

What happens if my cabinets or vanities get wet?

To save a few bucks, manufacturers started using particle board in kitchens and bathrooms – rooms where water is a given.

It looks fine at first. But particle board is just compressed wood chips and glue. The moment it gets wet, it swells, warps, and falls apart.

Whoever decided that was a good idea clearly never built a cabinet in real life.

Your space. Your needs. No cookie-cutter layouts.

Will I be stuck with standard sizes and layouts?

Not every kitchen needs full-blown custom work – but it shouldn’t feel like you’re playing Tetris with pre-sized boxes, either. You have a vision. You want it to look great, fit right, and work for your life – not just mostly fit.

We use standard sizing and build custom to fit. That means fewer compromises, more options, and a kitchen that is actually built for you.
